This mouse adaptor holds the mouse head by means of a palate bar and nose clamp without ear bars. It offers vertical regulation to make the head level or at certain angle. The skull of mice and neonatal rat is relative thinner than that of adult rat, so that the use of ear bars can deform the mice skull and effect animal breathing. But this way of holding animal head without ear bars compromised the stability, and requires more experience for the operator.
