The ear bars of this adapter is made of resin with tapered points on one end and cuff tips on the other, which ensure to hold the head firmly while avoid damaging the mice skull as the use of stainless steel rod did. With scales, the height of the ear bars and the incisors clip can be adjusted individually, which is good for experiments from different angles.

Considering there is no ear canal for neonatal rats, this adaptor employed a cheekbone locker to replace the ear bars. This design provides noninvasive and stable way to hold the neonatal rat.
