Purpose:

The SS1-COM SunScan Canopy Analysis System is a convenient system for measuring and analyzing incident and transmitted photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) within plant canopies. It provides valuable information about limiting factors affecting crop growth in the field, such as Leaf Area Index (LAI).

This system does not require waiting for specific weather conditions and can be used under most light conditions (although measurements taken close to midday are recommended).

The SS1-COM configuration includes the BF5 Sunshine Sensor for reference measurement of direct and diffuse incident light, enhancing measurement accuracy.

Features:

  • Measures incident and transmitted Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) within the canopy
  • Directly displays Leaf Area Index (LAI)
  • Usable under both cloudy and sunny conditions
  • Ideal for phenotyping applications
