NCOR2 encodes a nuclear receptor co-repressor that mediates transcriptional silencing of certain target genes. Nuclear receptor corepressor 2 is a member of a family of thyroid hormone- and retinoic acid receptor-associated co-repressors. Nuclear receptor corepressor 2 acts as part of a multisubunit complex which includes histone deacetylases to modify chromatin structure that prevents basal transcriptional activity of target genes. Aberrant expression of NCOR2 is associated with certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
Human Nuclear receptor corepressor 2 (NCOR2) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate NCOR2 in samples. An antibody specific for NCOR2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyNCOR2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NCOR2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NCOR2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
