Founded in 2014, by Dr. Arindam Ghatak, Dr. Janani Venkatraman, and Dr. Santanu Datta, Biomoneta received critical support from the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Karnataka State Government, and Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP). In 2020, the company raised seed funding led by Beyond Next Ventures (Japan) through the C-CAMP-BNV Innovation Hub, with investments from ArthaVida Ventures, Tranzmute Capital, and angel investors including Dr. Aniruddha Malpani, Narayan K. Seshadri, Manish Gandhi, Kaveri Das, and Arpit Ranka.
